Ms. Jamie
JamieI live in Durango with my husband and two children Rowan (16) and Henry (11). We love everything outdoors and can often be found on the river, on the side of a mountain, or on the slopes. I received my teaching License in early childhood education from Fort Lewis College and have been teaching for 19 years.  I have been with The Juniper School since the beginning so this will be my 7th year with this incredible school. I am excited to continue to bring my knowledge and experience of the Montessori Method to TJS! I am thrilled to be a part of a team that is dedicated to providing quality educational experiences. I believe in a classroom culture that fosters exploration and creativity where everyone is encouraged and celebrated.

Ms. Tamsin
TamsinI’ve lived in Colorado for 23 years and moved to Durango two years ago, from Pagosa Springs, with my husband of 28 years.  We have two adult daughters, living on opposite coasts.  Zoe, a writer in New York, and Hannah, an artist in San Francisco.  We have always loved Durango and are excited to call it home.  I live a very active lifestyle, and enjoy running, biking, hiking, paddle boarding, skiing and more in this beautiful area.  I have a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and this will be my eighth year teaching.  I’m delighted to be working with such an amazing group of educators at The Juniper School, and can’t wait to meet the students.  As a teacher, I hope to instill confidence and a life-long love of learning.

Ms. Liz

LizI moved to Colorado from New Hampshire ten years ago to attend Fort Lewis College where I received my bachelor's in elementary education. Aside from the schooling, I fell in love with all Durango had to offer. I am a very active person who loves the outdoors. I spend my free time hiking, skiing, fly fishing, paddle boarding, and enjoying all the beauties of nature. This will be my 7th year teaching and 4th  year at Juniper. I believe in a classroom culture that fosters exploration and creativity where everyone is encouraged and celebrated. We all have a story and I am excited to add this chapter to mine!  I am passionate about creating a fun and safe environment for the students to learn in, and I am looking forward to having a great year full of learning and discoveries with everyone!

AmandaI am thrilled to be starting my 4th year as the 2nd grade teacher here at TJS!  I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education, with n endorsement in teaching literacy, from the University of Montana in Missoula.  I have been teaching for a total of six years and started my teaching career in Dolores, CO , before moving to Durango. I love the outdoors, which makes Durango the perfect place for me.  Colorado and Montana are both incredible states to explore, and with my teaching experience in both places I strive to bring learning to life by incorporating the natural and cultural diversity in these beautiful states.
