Student IDs

Students will be issued IDs again this year. New 2018/19 IDs will be distributed following your school’s Fall picture day. IDs issued last year should be used in lieu of the new IDs until the new photos and IDs are produced. These IDs are important for safety and security, allow access to bus transportation services, can be used with City Transit and are required for school library use.

2018/19 Sponsorships Available Now!

School districts produce several required and beneficial communications documents throughout the year, some mandated by law and some to stay connected with families and the community. In order to help streamline these costs in the budget, which in turn funnels money back to the classrooms, we are reaching out to community partners to support our work through sponsorships!

Community Budget Meeting

Durango 9-R invites you to join us for public meeting for community members to provide feedback on the proposed 2018-19 budget and weigh in on budgetary priorities. The meeting is on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 6-7:30pm at Miller Middle School auditorium.

District Launches My Stop App For Bus Riders

We are excited to introduce a new feature now available to families who have students who ride our buses. As an extension of our scanning system, which utilizes Student IDs to scan students on and off buses, parents can now download an app to their mobile device to access their child’s bus route information in live time and in a secure environment.

Message from Superintendent Dan Snowberger

Dear Durango 9-R Parents/Guardians:

Since last week’s school shooting in Florida, schools across the nation are operating in a heightened and sensitive environment. This is reinforced by the constant, and at times graphic, media coverage regarding school threats, violence, guns, and safety.

After-school Activities Cancelled

The following is a non-emergency message from Durango School District 9-R for all parents, staff and students. Due to inclement weather conditions, all after-school activities, with the exception of Kids' Camp and Juniper Club, will be cancelled today, Monday, February 12, 2018.

Animals in the Classroom at 9-R - From Pets to Curriculum

Recently the 9-R community has been discussing the enforcement of the existing district policy, JLIF, or Service Animals in Schools. This policy has been in the district since 2015, and speaks to both the use of service and therapy animals in the classroom. This long-standing policy excludes animals as pets in the classroom, but our district has agreed to allow animals in the classroom as appropriate for aligned standards or curriculum delivery. While this has been an established policy, it has not been consistently enforced in the past at all schools.
