This bonus is structured as a hiring and retention bonus and will be paid to qualifying individuals over a time period that will span their new employment with us in the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year and their returning employment with us in the 2023-2024 school year.
For someone hired into an Educational Support Professional, Student Service Provider, Licensed Staff, Administrator, or Managerial Technical position, who has a first day worked on the job of January 1, 2023 to March 17, 2023, we will offer two (2) tiers of bonuses:
- Tier 1: $500 to be paid $250 in January 2023 and $250 in February 2023 – shift to a February/March structure if start date is in February; March/April structure if start day is in March.
- Tier 2: $1000 for someone who is able to commit to employment now and next school year. Pay $250 in January 2023, $250 in February 2023, and $500 in second paycheck of the 2023-2024 contract or letter of intent. (shift to a February/March structure if start date is in February; March/April structure if start date is in March)
These hiring/retention bonuses are structured such that positions that are 0.90 FTE and up, will receive the full amounts outlined above. For positions that are less than 0.90 FTE, the bonus is prorated based on the FTE of the position.
**Should an employee terminate their employment prior to fulfilling their contract or letter of intent, the bonus the employee received would need to be paid back to Durango School District 9-R in full.
