Our Philosophy, Vision and Mission

As one of the strongest, oldest species of trees on the planet, the juniper is revered by cultures around the world, celebrated for its myriad uses and mystical form. Its resiliency inspires who we are and what we strive toward. What part of Juniper are you?

Vision
To cultivate creative, critical thinkers and compassionate hearts for a better tomorrow.

Mission

Our community grows the whole child by celebrating and inspiring:

  • Individuality
  • Academic rigor
  • Mindfulness
  • Curiosity
  • Compassion for self, others, and the environment

Restorative Justice
At The Juniper School, we use Restorative Justice Practices as part of our school community and culture. Our classrooms incorporate connection circles and peacemaking circles into their daily routine. Using Restorative Justice Practices helps us balance all parts of who we are as people.
The Restorative Approach supports relationship building and problem-solving. We do this by:
  • Developing a plan of action
  • Getting acquainted
  • Addressing issues and visions
  • Building understanding and Trust

Our Multi-Tiered System of Supports incorporates Restorative Justice as the first choice for resolution of conflicts and behavioral challenges. RT shapes our MTSS process, including Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 behavior interventions.
