The Juniper School is proud to partner with local solar installer, SolarWorks!, on an exciting new solar project for our school building in Bodo. The proposed 65-kilowatt solar photovoltaic (PV) system will power the whole school, including our upcoming expansion, with almost all the electricity we’ll need throughout the year. This will free up important resources we can use to reinvest in our school and our students. Our environmental impact of this project will offset the CO2 emissions of over 81,000 lbs of coal and the equivalent of planting 1,216 trees growing for ten years! We’ll be installing the panels over the summer so when everyone comes back to school in the fall, we’ll be officially powered by solar! SolarWorks has also volunteered to come teach our students about solar energy so keep an eye out for a renewable energy elective option next year.
